CTT launches Edraws online raffles for hospices

Charity Technology Trust has launched Edraws to help hospices run raffles online.

Edraws is a version of CTT's online raffling system which has been modified to enable hospices to carry out their weekly or monthly lucky draws.

Blotto! scratchcard game raises £10,000 in first four months

Lichfield-based St Giles Hospice reports that its Blotto! scratchcard has raised £10,000 so far from pub-goers in the charity's Midlands catchment area.

More than 60 pubs have signed up to sell the game cards, which see players scratch and match three symbols to win a host of prizes - from the £1,000 jackpot to a free round of drinks.

Mobile Lottery launched with 20% donated to charities

The Mobile Lottery has launched a service to enable consumers to play a range of games on their mobile phones. Ten charities will receive 20p of each £1 spent on games.

The Mobile Lottery is the latest offering from Charles Cohen who founded the innovative online payment system Beenz, which was subsequently withdrawn. At first it will offer consumers three games.

Hospice launches Blotto! scratchcard game

Lichfield-based St Giles Hospice has launched a new scratchcard game targeting pub-goers and called it "Blotto!"

The charity has 'borrowed' the National Lottery Lotto name and turned it to its own advantage to raise funds to support the care of local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

VSO runs annual raffle online

VSO is once again including an online element for its annual raffle.

The raffle is being held using the online raffling engine of Charity Technology Trust. The top prise is £2,500 cash, and other prizes include a safari for two in Southern Africa, a two-week intensive Spanish course in Spain, and two return flights to Morocco.

Online advertising service Espotting Media has partnered with Charity Technology Trust (CTT) to help drive traffic to The Party in the Park online raffle to raise money for The Prince's Trust.

Accounts at Scottish breast cancer charity frozen

The action was taken after the Court of Session heard that only a small amount of the money Breast Cancer Research (Scotland) raised was spent on charitable work.

According to BBC News, the Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd QC, told the court that only £1.5m of £13.2m raised by the Glasgow-based organisation had been used for cancer research.
