A retired police officer has admitted stealing £9,800 between August 1999 and June 2000 from the Dream Foundation, the children's charity he helped to set up.
David Foley admitted 15 charges of theft at Newcastle Crown Court. A police officer for 30 years, Foley was in the dock together with his wife Elaine. Charges against both of them of conspiracy to defraud were dropped.
