New edition of guide to charitable status published

The Directory of Social Change has published a new edition of one of the most popular guides to charity law.

"Charitable Status: A Practical Handbook" by Andrew Phillips, has been re-released to help charities comply with the myriad of laws
applying to them. It is aimed at trustees, charity workers, lawyers and accountants needing a working introduction to the subject.

RSPB overhauls Web site with content management solution

The RSPB has redesigned its Web site to increase membership recruitment and revenue generation, using Tridion's content management solution.

Using Tridion, regional offices of the RSPB will be able to develop and post relevant content on the site, while the Web team at HQ will continue to retain overall control over structure, design and programming.

CFDG launches project to improve charity reporting

The Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) has set out a new initiative to improve the consistency of charity annual reports.

The project is expected to play a vital part in improving the quality and consistency of charity annual reports and as such, will help charities move on to more accurate output and outcome measures. The new work has been funded by the LloydsTSB Foundation.

New appointments at British Lung Foundation Scotland

Two new fundraising appointments have been announced at British Lung Foundation Scotland.

Andrew Powrie-Smith will be managing the team as Head of the British Lung Foundation Scotland. He will oversee raising public awareness on lung illness, develop fundraising strategies and make the voices heard of people in Scotland living with a lung illness.
