The Scotland on Sunday newspaper has published its annual list of the 100 most influential people in Scotland. This year it is headed for the fifth year in a row by Sir Fred Goodwin, the chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The Sunday Times has today published its annual guide to the richest 1,000 people in Britain and Ireland. The combined wealth of these people has risen 20.6% in the past year alone to £300 billion, with £60 million now being the entry level for the list.
Sunrise Radio has published the 2006 Asian Rich List, detailing Britain's top 300 Asian millionaires, worth a combined £35.3 billion and headed once again by Lakshmi Mittal with a £14.8 billion fortune.

It is designed to help nonprofit managers, staff, and volunteers develop Internet and database prospecting strategies as an integral part of their overall fundraising plans. It includes a chapter by UK Fundraising's Howard Lake.
Richard Desmond, owner of the Express newspaper group, has donated £2.5 million to Moorfields Eye Hospital towards the building of a new children's eye centre. The new building will be named The Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre.
Desmond, a Moorfields patient, has previously supported glaucoma research at the hospital.
