Elizabeth Dixon is to join prospect research specialists the Factary as Senior Research Director, moving from her current post as Head of Research in the Development team at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

A Massachusetts-based search firm has launched Zoominfo, a search engine that lists and links information on people, their companies and other business relationships. As such it should prove another useful tool for prospect researchers, at least in the USA.

Researchers in Fundraising call for conference speakers

The Researchers in Fundraising special interest gourp is looking for speakers and themes for its next conference, expected to be held in September 2005.

The group is keen to hear from "anyone who would feel comfortable speaking to the group for around 45 minutes about prospect research, or any topic that would be of interest to prospect researchers."

Philanthropist makes major donation

The biggest single donation to the Irish fundraising effort following the tsunami was made by JP McManus, one of Ireland's richest men, according to press reports.

Ireland's top 15,000 worth $52 billion

Ireland's 15,000 highest net worth individuals are worth around $52 billion according to a survey by Cap Gemini and investment bank Merrill Lynch. This works out at almost $3.5 million each on average.

Sunday Times Rich List due for publication on 3 April 2005

The Sunday Times Rich List 2005 will be published on Sunday 3 April 2005.

The list and summary biographies of the wealthiest people in the UK will appear as usual as a supplement within The Sunday Times, with an online version on the newspaper's website.

Asian Rich List 2005 published

Commercial radio network Sunrise Radio has published the Asian Rich List 2005, the index of the top 300 Asian millionaires in the UK.

The 120-page publication has been compiled by Phillip Beresford, author of the Sunday Times Rich List, and details individuals' rise to success. It costs £6.50 and can be bought online.

Forbes lists world's billionaires

Business magazine Forbes reports that there are now 691 billionaires around the world with a total net worth of $2.2 trillion. This is $300 billion more than the net worth of the 587 billionaires listed in 2004.

The wealthiest billionaires, according to Forbes, are:

2. Warren Buffett
3. Lakshmi Mittal
4. Carlos Slim Helu

Targeting the mortgage-free

People who have paid off their mortgage could be good prospects for fundraisers. New research from the Royal Bank of Scotland shows that Britain's homeowners are on average paying off their mortgages earlier as each year goes by.

One-day conference on raising funds from the rich
