UK's 'most generous boss' to give away profits to local charities

Businessman Colin Potter sold his company last year for £10 million and gave £2 million of that to his staff. He now intends to give away all future profits of his new business to charity.

His new company, ProposalGENie, offers a web-based system for preparing sales proposals. According to Personnel Today, he expects to start making grants by the end of this year.

The Times lists new names for Who's Who 2005

The Times today concludes its list of all those whose names have been added to this year's Who's Who directory for the first time.

This week the Times has been publishing the new names of those selected to appear in Who's Who 2005.

The January 2005 issue of Management Today magazine features Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.

The feature appears only in the printed magazine and not online. The magazine costs £3.90.

THINK formalises its links with The Factary

THINK Consulting is formalising its work with prospect research company The Factary after several years of co-operation on UK and international clients.

THINK will now play an active role on The Factary's board, and Factary founder Chris Carnie is now an Associate Director at THINK.

Each edition of the guide is fully updated and revised. Entry is not for life: listings are reassessed each year.

Debrett's guide to the aristocracy sold for £1 million

Publisher SPG Media has sold Debrett's, which publishes guides to the UK's aristocracy and to etiquette, to Devonshire Media, a privately owned company.

Debrett's are specialists in biographical reference books and some of their titles, such as "People of Today", are popular with fundraising researchers. The company has been selling books since 1769.
