ICFM Membership survey

The Institute of Charity Fundraising Managers has distributed a questionnaire to its members asking for opinions on how to develop its services to members. The last membership survey was conducted in 1994 and revealed a desire among members for a professional qualification for fundraisers.

New year - new job?

The American Philanthropy Review has followed its series of new e-mail discussion lists for fundraisers with a new online career search service.

Directed at US fundraisers, Career Search Online might also be of use to UK fundraisers looking for a change of scenery. The service can be searched by state, by position title, and by organisation.

Artists Gilbert and George are raising funds for Aids charity Crusaid by donating a quarter of the proceeds of their £11.99 screensaver.

A tad expensive for something that's normally given away on CD magazine cover-mounts, you might think. But G&G offer more: "we want to spill our blood, our brains and our seed for art", they say. OK then, since it's for charity.

Software for the smaller charity

A fundraising program specifically designed for small to medium-sized charities has just been launched.

Fundbase is available in international English and is distributed as shareware. It can then be registered for £30.

Web TV

Cambridge charity Emmaus is using the Web to extend the value of Terry Waite presenting a BBC Lifeline appeal on their behalf on Sunday December 7th at 5 p.m.

Emmaus' site contains the script that Waite will use, thereby extending its powerful reach, both in time and geographically, beyond those who tune in to the appeal.

US fundraising info for UK fundraisers
