Children in Need raises £1 million online

BBC Children in Need last month raised £1 million online, its highest total online income to date.

According to Computing magazine, over 50,000 people made online donations to the charity. The online payment handling system was provided by BT.

3,300 charities registered with GiveNow.org

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) reports that over 3,300 charities have registered with GiveNow.org, its online giving site run in association with AOL UK and AOL Time Warner Foundation.

It makes sense to take up CAF's offer of a free listing on the site given that it is being promoted to AOL UK's large customer base as its preferred charitable giving Web site.

Survey reveals business benefits of payroll giving

Encouraging employees to support charity through their payroll delivers real benefits to business, according to a new report commissioned by The Giving
Campaign.


The report, 'The Business of Giving', found that 96% of companies surveyed thought Payroll Giving was something employers should offer and want to see more of their staff taking part in such schemes.
