The Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need 24/25 - hold an umbrella over someone's head

This website is designed to provide information in regard to the subject matter covered, namely charity fundraising. Expect fundraising news, analysis, comment, opportunities and a dose of inspiration.

Here we set out the terms and conditions on which we publish and make available this content.

By using our site you are agreeing to these terms. If you do not agree to any of these terms, then you may not use our site.

And we might on occasion update these terms – so expect them to change over time. We shall announce this via our normal channels of communication – email, Facebook, and other social media channels. We shall also update these terms so that you can see when they were last updated.

General terms and conditions

We are Fundraising UK Ltd, a company limited by liability in the UK (number 3170187) which has been trading since 1996. Our registered office is 17 Errington Road, Colchester, CO3 3EA, UK. Our VAT number is 795 8153 77.

You can contact us on 01206 579081 and via hl***@fu*********.uk.

We have endeavoured to ensure the site’s accuracy and completeness, but this should not be relied upon. Given this site has been published since 1994, you can be sure that lots of content is now out of date. It might be useful to you, or it might not. It was put together with good intentions and was accurate when we wrote it. So do check the date on an item if you are thinking of acting on anything we mention – if it was published in the 1990s, don’t be surprised if fundraising regulation, technology and understanding has moved on.

Use is granted with the understanding that the publisher and author are not engaged in rendering legal or financial advice. We really aren’t solicitors or accountants. We are professionals, but professional fundraisers. If expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional should be sought.

Use

Material which may be accessed from this website (excluding links) may be read, printed and downloaded for private use, but may not be copied for any other purpose.

That said, we truly love it when you share links and summaries of this site’s content via social media channels. So, social sharing is great, stealing our stuff (and worse – passing it off as your own) certainly isn’t.

Your use of the site

You don’t get to misuse this site – we wouldn’t like that. So we don’t want you trying to upload malicious files or programs or viruses, or try to gain illegal access to parts of the site.

Don’t spread falsehoods or make libellous comments about fundraisers or indeed anyone else.

Don’t share personal or other information that you don’t have a right to share or use. This could be personal information or intellectual property that is not yours.

In short, don’t do anything illegal on this site – don’t attempt to use it to defraud, to steal, to impersonate someone else or other antisocial or indeed illegal activities.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights used in relation to the design and content of this website are reserved, including copyright, database rights and trademarks.

You are not permitted to copy, share, reproduce, or make any use of it without having secured obtained our permission beforehand.

All trade marks and registered trademarks referred to on this site are acknowledged as belonging to the relevant company. If you have any issue with content you think we should not be using – just contact us to explain your concern.

If you submit any comment, post, story or review to this site, the copyright rests with you: we do not claim that for ourselves. However, in return for making your content public on our site, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use it, copy it, tweak it (e.g. for length or clarity), distribute it and publish it in any media.

Listing of a company, service, or product on this website does not in any way imply endorsement.

Similarly, mention of someone is not an endorsement of them.

Reasonable efforts have been made at the time of publishing each page to examine the contents of each organisation and publication linked to on this website, but no responsibility is taken for the contents contained on such links or for their continued functioning. Again, check the date of the content – people move jobs, fundraising companies change focus or go out of business, and web links just get broken.

Fundraising UK Ltd is or has been a participant in numerous affiliate partnership programmes, ranging from the Amazon Associates Programme to that of Bookshop.org, and Fundraising Everywhere’s programme. We try to flag these up as links that can generate a commercial return for us.

Use of personal data

For details of how we do and do not use personal data with regard to users’ interaction with this site, please read our privacy and cookie policy. We are required to adhere to various laws regarding your personal, private data – such as GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and PECR. But we’re fundraisers at heart – we value our clients and the people we serve and would not do anything to break their trust or harm them. So we are fully committed to treating personal data with respect and integrity and subscribing to all the rights you have to it.

We will use any personal information you provide to us in connection with your use of this site or our services in accordance with our privacy and cookie policy.

In short, we work to treat your personal data and privacy to the same high quality of care as we would expect from you and others.

Indemnity

If you breach your obligations under these terms, you agree to indemnify us against any claim by a third party that might be brought against us as a result. In other words, you will indemnify us and hold us harmless against all losses, costs, damages or expenses that we incur as a result. This could include professional fees we incur as a result of defending ourselves.

Disclaimer

The author and publisher (that’s us, Fundraising UK Ltd), shall have neither liability nor responsibility to any person or entity with respect to any loss or damage caused, or alleged to be caused, directly or indirectly by the information contained here. While every effort has been taken to ensure that all details are correct, the publishers cannot accept any responsibility for the accuracy of information contained on UK Fundraising’s pages, nor for the consequences of any actions taken or not taken as a result of this information.
