Detainees at Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre near Newark have been making and donating handcrafted items to local charities as part of a new voluntary activity scheme.
International children’s charity Hope and Homes for Children has received $1 million from The "Jewels for Hope" auction which was held at Christie's in Geneva earlier this year.
Charity shop volunteers and staff never quite know what they are going to find in the next bag of donated items. Some donated items are very odd indeed.
