A recent Harvard Business Review article outlined 12 key beliefs that good bosses hold. The author, Professor Robert Sutton of Stanford University, added his own considerable experience to a variety of research to come up with his favoured dozen, but I think there are others to add specifically for charity bosses.
The Institute of Fundraising Scotland has announced the bookings for the Scottish Conference 2010 are now open. The one-day conference takes place on 26 October at the Hilton Glasgow.
I've been completing application forms for volunteer opportunities and aside from the fact that they are very long, it struck me that they are almost indistinguishable from job application forms. It appears charities are becomming fussier about who they will accept as volunteers; and I think this is a good thing. But that's for another blog. What I liked were the thought-provoking questions around successful teams and team dynamcis.
