The Portsmouth Grammar School is a highly successful, independent, co-educational school with an excellent academic reputation and around 1600 pupils. The school’s development programme began in 2003 with a successful fundraising campaign and since then considerable effort has gone into building and sustaining relationships with current parents and former pupils. The Headmaster and Governors are committed to a long-term development programme and would now like to appoint a Development Director to lead and manage a permanent fundraising activity.
Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, but fundraising experience, knowledge of legacy giving and a proven track record of success in major gift solicitation and achieving fundraising targets would be a significant advantage.

The following qualities are also sought:
• The ability to understand and articulate the values of an independent, co-educational school.
